When a video of a wolf roaming the halls inside an athlete dormitory at the Winter Olympics in Sochi was uploaded by American luger Kate Hansen early Thursday morning, it predictably caught fire. Within minutes, it took the Internet (and eventually the mainstream media) by storm.
But, as we told you late yesterday, the video was nothing more than a hoax orchestrated by Jimmy Kimmel, whose goal in life is to turn us into a nation with trust issues that doesn’t believe it’s worthy of having nice things.
Above, watch Kimmel officially own up to the prank. He reveals the full-length version of the video (which was shot in Los Angeles), talks to Hansen about how it all went down, and brings the creature (believed by its trainer to be 80-95% timberwolf) on stage. As always with pranks like these, the best part is the montage of major news outlets taking the bait, and Kimmel has one of those as well. So. Many. Wolf of Wall Street jokes.
