Last month, Shannon Sanderford was crowned Miss Texas. The honor comes with many perks, not the least of which is being asked to throw out the first pitch before a Rangers game. On Tuesday, she did exactly that, and, afterwards, she gave an interview to the broadcast crew where she showed off her ability to rap. Or, at least, her ability to end sentences with rhyming words.
“Yo, Ranger fans, Miss Tex in the house. C’mon, y’all, lemme’ hear a shout-out. I threw the first pitch, got it over home plate, hey, Jordan Spieth, you wanna call me for a date?”
As the interviewer hilariously pointed out, rap is “kinda big” right now, so hopefully her ability to bust rhymes will help put her over the top for the upcoming Miss America pageant. However, it’s tough to ignore her message at the end, which is that she’d like for the world’s No. 1-ranked golfer to call her.
That would be nice, wouldn’t it? It’s always fun when two good-looking young people get together socially. The only problem, however, is that Spieth already has a girlfriend that he’s been dating since high school. Oh, and the two of them were also in attendance at the same Rangers game, and sitting next to each other. So, that might not work.
Unless…
“Yo, Jordan Spieth, I’m not asking you to cheat. But Miss Tex is in the house, we’ll keep it discreet. Maybe grab some dinner after finishing nine. You pick the restaurant, and I’ll pick the wine.”
