Deflategate will never die, at least as long as Tom Brady and the NFL are willing to take the battle into courtroom after courtroom until, eventually, one assumes the Supreme Court is tasked with deciding whether or not Brady is suspended for four games. At the moment, Brady’s suspension has been reninstated, which means those supporting Brady are on the offensive. This includes Brady’s Patriots teammate, and frequent pass target, Julian Edelman.
Edelman was at something called the Boston Calling music festival Saturday night, when the Patriots wide receiver took the stage to shout “Free Brady” to an audience that was, unsurprisingly, quite receptive to that message. “Free Tom Brady” has, evidently, become a bit of a rallying cry all over Boston, so, if Brady’s suspension actually comes into play this year, expect to hear that a whole bunch at Patriots games.
Edelman isn’t the only actual Patriot to throw his support behind Tom Brady, either. At the NFL Draft earlier this year, Kevin Faulk, former Patriots running back, wore a Brady jersey while he announced the Patriots’ third-round pick. So, Tom Brady, take solace. Kevin Faulk and Julian Edelman are on your side, fighting the good fight.
