College basketball is back, which means ’tis the season for Kentucky freshman ruining folks on the floor at Rupp Arena.
De’Aaron Fox and Malik Monk teamed up with the backboard for an alley oop dunk against Cleveland State on Wednesday. Monk started the play with a steal less than four minutes into the game, then rushed up court to turn up the fast break. Monk saw Fox streaking with him and kissed the ball off the glass to set up the monster jam.
Those poor Vikings never stood a chance.

Fox actually elevated so high on the dunk he hit his head on the backboard. Check it out:

He’d probably be great at rock climbing. Maybe if this basketball thing doesn’t work out he should go to a gym and give bouldering a try. I think he’d like it.
Anyway, the No. 1 team in the nation had little trouble with Cleveland State, cracking triple digits in the 101-70 win. Incredibly, it looks like they’ll be able to compete this year despite young players seeing significant minutes. Simply astonishing.
