By now, you’ve probably seen the video of the Redskins’ Kirk Cousins being pretty fired up to no one in particular after his game-winning touchdown pass on Sunday against the Bucs.
Cousins, to put it mildly, has been up and down as the Washington starter this season, but Sunday was perhaps his best effort as he went 33-40, with 317 yards passing, three touchdowns and no interceptions. It was especially big for Cousins considering he threw a pick-six to lose the game in overtime against Atlanta two weeks ago, and was completely shut down by the Jets secondary in the Redskins’ previous game.
With his game-winner on Sunday, Cousins also became the only active player to have two game-winning passes in the final 30 seconds of the fourth quarter, so he at least temporarily settled the quarterback controversy in Washington and silenced those who have been clamoring for Robert Griffin III to get his starting position back.
It’s no surprise that he was pumped up about his performance, but Cousins is not exactly the kind of guy you would expect to see coming in hot like that, so, naturally, the internet had some fun with it.

“Hotline Bling” memes have another solid week or two in their shelf life, but that Kirk Cousins one might take the cake, only rivaled for the crown by “Hotline Pug.”
