When 27-year-old undefeated Olympic champion boxer Anthony Joshua steps into the ring against Wladimir Klitschko, he’ll know Dr. Dre has his back. That’s a confidence boost for anyone. Who knew that Dr. Dre was such an avid boxing fan as to keep up with the relatively-unknown monster that is Joshua? Fans of the sport know he’s 18-0 with 18 finishes on his record, which is an incredible feat, and most are looking at this fight as the true changing of the heavyweight guard, but props to Dre. He knows what’s up.
Joshua is currently the favorite amongst bookies in what could be Wladimir Klitschko’s final fight, but Joshua knows that the old champion, even coming off a loss against the utterly ridiculous Tyson Fury, is still extremely motivated and dangerous. That’s why it’s nice to just chat with Dr. Dre for a while and talk about weightlifting. You gotta get your mind off fighting in front of a Wembley Stadium crowd against one of the best ever.
Will this weekend go better for Klitschko than the Fury fight? Will it be better for him than when his brother got blasted in the face with a fire extinguisher? Maybe. A serious, healthy “maybe.”
