Early on in this college football season, there have been several potential heisman trophy candidates, but none have stood out more than LSU’s Leonard Fournette.
Fournette exploded onto the scene last week with his astonishing performance against Auburn in which he rushed for over 225 yards and had some unbelievable highlight runs.
This week, LSU got more than it expected from Syracuse in a 34-24 victory in the Carrier Dome, and once again Fournette was the star as he ran for 244 yards and two touchdowns on the day including this impressive 62-yard touchdown run.

Fournette also had this remarkable play in the 1st half in which he turned a potential sack into a 48-yard gain for the Tigers.
Leonard Fournette turns a sack into a 48-yard gain because, well, he's Leonard Fournette #SCtop10 http://t.co/L8dQvzUFm4

Fournette also had a 90-yard run that was called back after an illegal formation call that would have given him over 300 yards on the day.

Leonard Fournette stats if you exclude 2 penalties: 21 for 320

Fournette became the first LSU running back ever to rush for two consecutive 200-yard games, and for the second straight week, Twitter is taking notice.

<goodjoke>
The only way to stop Leonard Fournette is to recruit a linebacker named Leonard Fivenette.

I just watched that Leonard Fournette play at an LSU bar. I hope I love my kid this much some day.

Little bit of Herschel Jackson in Leonard Fournette. Freakin' beast.

Leonard Fournette is one of those rare players you look at one time and you just know he's gonna be a stud in the NFL

Shockingly, LSU has not had a Heisman trophy winner since Billy Cannon won it way back in 1959. However, if Fournette can stay healthy and LSU keeps winning, it may very well be his to lose.
Oh, and next week? Fournette and LSU take on Eastern Michigan, who currently has the worst rush defense in the country. That one might be fun for Tigers fans.
