Lou Holtz is no longer with ESPN. The two mutually agreed to part ways, according to Sports Illustrated‘s Richard Deitsch. The former Notre Dame coach had worked with ESPN as a college football analyst since 2004, mostly as a co-host for College Football Final with Mark May and Rece Davis. With Davis taking over Chris Fowler’s duties on College Game Day, the show’s future maybe be in doubt.
As for Holtz, his agent Sandy Montag said, “He looks forward to other opportunities in college football.” He is 78.
This past year, Holtz gave viewers perhaps his most nonsensical moment on the network. Six months later, we still have no idea what he said.
