Poor Beast Mode. Apparently the Seahawks star running back’s biopic, which was supposed to be titled Family First: The Marshwan Lynch Story, will never actually be released. According to Rolling Stone, the film was produced by Lynch’s longtime family friend Mario Bobino. Lynch helped Bobino get $100,000 to make the film. But after seeing Bobino’s final product, the film will never be seen:
“He did a terrible job, and the film will never be released,” said Lynch’s agent, Doug Hendrickson.
In the same report, Bobino was apparently so passionate about making the film that after his initial $100,000 investment ran out, he dipped into his own retirement funds — up to $18,000 — to finish it.
Lynch and Bobino aren’t even speaking after the whole debacle, but Bobino decided to make a film of his own — one that will depict the struggles he went through in making Lynch’s biopic:
“My story is the truth, so people know what happened and what I had to deal with,” he says. “If that movie had come out and it would have been successful, I would have gotten no credit. Now that it’s considered a failure, everyone is pointing the finger at Mario Bobino.”
I’m not quite sure how successful a movie about directing another movie will be, but to each his own. You can watch the trailer of Lynch’s biopic here, which will probably be all we’ll ever get to see of it.
