The summer of the shark continues.
World champion surfer Mick Fanning was competing at an event in South Africa when a shark came up from behind and NOPE!
*UPDATE: Here’s an interview with Fanning right after the shark attack.
“I felt something grab.. get stuck in my leg rope. And I instantly just jumped away.”
Somehow, someway, Fanning escaped relatively unharmed. The event is on hold for the day according to the #JBay Open Twitter account.
Due to the shark incident, #JBayOpen has been called OFF for the day. The athletes are unharmed. More info soon http://t.co/Kq8bZ5eIA7
