One Florida family had the night of a lifetime on Saturday at The Swamp in Gainesville. Not only did they get to watch their Gators beat up on No. 3 Ole Miss, but they also received an emotional surprise when their military father returned home from active duty to surprise them on the field.
Chief Warrant Officer Kristian Denkins just arrived back in the States from Afghanistan, where he recently completed his fifth tour of duty, before reuniting with his wife and four children in front of a packed Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. Military homecoming videos are usually pretty emotional and special, but this one was a little extra awesome considering we got to see Officer Denkins sprinting onto the field in uniform to hug his family. As is usually the case, he was met by lots of smiles and lots of tears.
Couple this special reunion with the Gators’ absolute smackdown upset laid upon the Rebels and it was a pretty fantastic night to be Florida fan at The Swamp.
