The last time most people saw Neymar in a Brazil jersey, he was getting rammed in the spine at the World Cup. Ah, memories.
Well, he’s back and healthy now, and he’s straight making fools out of defenders again. Look at that poor sap from Peru, so ruined by Neymar poking the ball over his head twice that he just tackles the Brazilian (and it was an American football sort of tackle, not the other kind of football tackle). This devastation occurred at the Copa America tournament (essentially the South American championship) taking place in Chile this month. Sure, it’s not the most important soccer event going on right now (ahem, Women’s World Cup), but it’s the only one with Neymar, so it’s got something going for it.
Just in case you were wondering if Neymar can produce steak to go with all that sizzle, Brazil beat Peru 2-1, with Neymar scoring one goal and assisting on the other (with a gorgeous pass):
