Earlier this summer, EA Sports made a surprising decision when they announced that – after winning their third Stanley Cup in six years – both Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane would be featured on the cover of NHL 16. It was the first time in franchise history that the cover was to feature two teammates.
But, following recent allegations of sexual assault against Kane, the video game company released a statement on Wednesday announcing that the Blackhawks forward would no longer serve as a spokesman for the game or appear on its cover.

Instead, Jonathan Toews will be the lone cover athlete, marking the second time he has graced the cover by himself. Here is the updated artwork:
