I’ve long held that Bull Durham contains wisdom that is not only key to being successful in baseball, away from your talents, but also helpful in your day-to-day life. You can grasp a lot of from Crash Davis’ lecture on not letting fungus grow on your shower shoes, if you look past Tim Robbins’ goofy ass getting a rub down across the scene.
The same can be said about his lecture on dealing with Major League interviews, posted above if you didn’t notice. Oakland rookie Mark Canha obviously did, racking up four RBI in his debut in The Show and using Ebby Calvin “Nuke” Laloosh’s lesson in his first post-game interview.
It’s a nice little nod to a classic movie. Too bad he plays for the A’s and that computer book loving Billy Beane. He’ll never make it.
