Paige VanZant is undeniably one of the UFC’s rising stars, but some have accused her of being more style than substance. Her last fight against Rose Namajunas ended with VanZant a bloody mess, and that was back in December. If you were waiting to hear about a return to the cage, this news may disappoint you: Instead of concentrating on her fight game, VanZant will appear on the new season of Dancing with the Stars.

VanZant joins an impressive league of past UFC contestants on the show. Legends Randy Couture and Chuck Liddell both appeared after their mixed martial-arts careers were over. While VanZant’s ability to create a legacy for herself in the cage is still in question, we gotta hope she’ll get further in the competition than Couture and Liddell. They both came in 11th place and were eliminated from their respective seasons after three weeks.

VanZant undoubtedly has more grace in movement, and her charisma is undeniable. If she puts in a good showing on this season of Dancing with the Stars, it could really give her another boost in her UFC career. Then she just has to capitalize with some solid wins in the 115-pound division.
VanZant is joined by NFL athletes Doug Flutie, Von Miller, and Antonio Brown. Other notable celebrities include The O.C.‘s Mischa Barton and Jodie Sweetin, also known as Stephanie Tanner from Fuller House. Oh, and Geraldo Rivera is gonna dance, too. The show is set to kick off on March 21. Until then, here’s Chuck Liddell doing the samba because the universe is ridiculous.
