The United States women’s gymnastics team made history Tuesday, becoming the first country to win back-to-back team gold medals in Olympics history. The “Final Five” as they have dubbed themselves, a group consisting of Simone Biles, Gabby Douglas, Laurie Hernandez, Madison Kocian, and Aly Raisman, dominated the competition en route to winning the gold. Naturally, there was a plethora of folks on the internet who wanted to congratulate and celebrate this tremendous accomplishment. Here is but a selection of the reactions from the internet after the American women took home their second gold medal in as many Olympics. Clearly, this team has struck a chord with a lot of people. Not just because of patriotism and jingoism, but because they are awesome.
