It’s not clear from the video what started the altercation between this Yankees fan and two Red Sox fans on Saturday, but those details really don’t matter. What does matter is that we have clear, horizontal cell phone video in perfect high definition showing a Yankees fan slapping a full beer from a Red Sox fan’s hand, then the Red Sox fan’s companion retaliating by throwing her beer into his face.
It’s tough to make out the conversation from a full section away, but thankfully, we’re experts in the art of lip reading.
Female Red Sox Fan: “Sit down, ‘ya bum. I’m about to get wicked pissed.”
Yankees Fan: “You can’t tell me what to do. I just got here from my country house. Don’t you know who I am? My family owns a chain of bodegas throughout the city. I will NOT sit down, and as Red Sox fans, I demand you leave my section, posthaste!”
Male Red Sox Fan (whispers): “Look, man. I have no problem with you, but this girl next to me is literally going to beat the sh*t out of you if you don’t sit down. Seriously, you don’t want to mess with her.”
Yankees Fan: “Your threat means nothing to me. In fact, I will now set off a chain reaction that wastes 100 dollars worth of stadium beer.”
