And, now, today in “Oh nooooooooo!”
Game 2 of the 2015 World Series between the Royals and Mets wasn’t as eventful as Game 1. There were no inside-the-park home runs or massive technical difficulties with the broadcast. The Royals won 7-1 to take a 2-0 series lead thanks to the masterful pitching of Johnny Cueto, who had a complete game. Per Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports, it was the first postseason complete game for the Royals since Game 7 of the 1985 World Series.
Naturally, everyone wanted to talk to Cueto after his masterful outing. As it turned out, though, not everyone with credentials knew what Cueto looked like. A local reporter looking for a post-game interview ended up asking questions to Cueto’s brother by mistake.
Instantly my favorite #WorldSeries moment: Watching a local TV guy interview Cueto's brother thinking it was Cueto. pic.twitter.com/qQqlOhx5PE

Granted, all three Cueto brothers look awfully similar, as you can see in the photo below. It’s completely understandable, although not excusable for someone to get Cueto and his brother mixed up. In fact, it apparently happens all the time.

I asked Danillo Cueto (through interpreter) how often he gets mistaken for Johnny: "All the time. Everybody."

Still, this was the star of the game. Identifying him in the World Series is kind of a must.
Not that we’re looking to publicly embarrass the reporter, but the media outlet hasn’t been identified. And since we’re almost 12 hours after the end of Game 2, here’s guessing the interview has already been taken down, which is probably a good thing. It would have been ripe for a few laughs as an overall cringe-worthy moment, but ultimately, someone made a bad mistake.
