Rory McIlroy apparently has a unique way of preparing for the upcoming PGA Championship. While it’s probably safe to assume that he has scouted Whistling Straights, hit the range, and maybe played a round or two, McIlroy also teamed up with trick shot masters George and Wesley Bryan to smack some golf balls all over the course.
This video was recorded back on June 12 during the PGA media day, so the guys had the whole course to themselves. They took advantage of it, as they – mostly McIlroy – lobbed up golf balls in a variety of ways for one of the other guys, who then mashed the balls all over the course. These are all really impressive, but the best one may come early in the video, when McIlroy was standing on a hill below one of George, managed to chip the ball over his head, and lobbed it perfectly to Wesley, who drove the ball before it hit the ground.
McIlroy will try to win his third PGA Championship and defend his 2014 title at this year’s Tournament, which will be held on August 13-16 in Kohler, Wis.
