The tennis world was stunned Friday afternoon when Serena Williams, arguably the most dominant female athlete in sports, fell to unseeded Roberta Vinci in the semifinals of the U.S. Open, ending her hopes of a Grand Slam. Literally nobody gave Vinci much of a chance at victory. Several betting sites, including 5Dimes, had Serena as a sure win at -2350.
Serena’s serve had been off for a few matches going back to the round of 16 against Madison Keys. She was able to power through, but the mistakes crept up again in her quarterfinal match against Venus, when she almost let it slip away in the second set. Alas, Vinci proved to be too much for Serena today. In a post match press conference, Serena gave the 32-year-old Italian her due, saying “she played out of her mind.”
Speaking of people losing their mind, Twitter weighed in after the shocking loss, and several people put the blame squarely on Drake, Serena’s “special friend.”

If this was Vinci's effort to reclaim her good name after True Detective season 2 shamed it, not a bad start.

Well when Serena breaks it off with Drake I'm here for you boo. My season is already in the crapper so no one will blame you.

All I'm saying is, if an unseeded player can beat Serena Williams you can text back.
