Odds are you’ve probably played badminton in gym class in high school or at a cookout, and there was one especially intense rally that was far more entertaining than it had any business being. That’s exactly what happened in this video from the 2015 Yonex U.S. Open Championship, which features Denmark’s Hans-Kristian Vittinghus going up against Malaysia’s Lee Chong Wei.
The rally starts with Lee serving to Vittinghus, followed by nearly 30 seconds of back-and-forth badminton-ing. The two are flying around the court, and the rally ends with Vittinghus hitting the shuttlecock between his legs and over Wei’s head, barely dropping it inbounds.
Vittinghus ended up winning the point, but Lee got the last laugh, as he won the U.S. Open in two sets. Hopefully someone edits this video so the two players have lightsabers instead of rackets.
