Thomas Vanek and the Wild are putting in work against the Winnipeg Jets in Minnesota on Tuesday night. Vanek tallied two goals in the game’s first 40 minutes, and both of them were pretty spectacular. The first came on a breakaway slap shot, which is an awesome and totally underrated power move on the ice.
But the second…oh man, the second was something else entirely. Vanek managed to burn a Jets defender with a nasty through-the-legs dangle, then finished it off with an absolutely perfect snipe into the top corner. Jets goaltender Ondrej Pavelec never even stood a chance, but the goal – Minnesota’s fourth – marked the end of his night.
