While it may not be the most closely scrutinized rivalry nationally, the annual gridiron battle between the Georgia Bulldogs and the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets is a big deal in the Peach State and there was visual evidence of that on Friday… in Los Angeles. Rams running back Todd Gurley, who was a first-round selection out of Georgia, was forced to pay off a bet by donning the colors and logo of his college’s in-state rival.

Shortly after Gurley took to the podium for a press conference in full Georgia Tech gear, word broke that it was teammate and former Georgia Tech standout Zach Laskey that prevailed in the wager against Gurley, and the fullback let Gurley know all about it on social media.

To be honest, this wager would have gone in Gurley’s favor more often than not, as the Bulldogs are generally considered to be in a different tier than the Yellow Jackets in the college football world and Georgia went off as the Las Vegas favorite in the 2016 edition. This time around, though, a little-known fullback got the best of Todd Gurley, and while it did not draw quite the attention of LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, a little bit of good-natured fun never hurt anyone.
