Ahh, the Deflategate saga, the thing that will never, ever die. New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and his legal team have been in and out of a New York court room to try and find a conclusion to the ridiculousness since last week. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Brady is willing to receive some sort of suspension by the NFL, but only for not willing to cooperate with the league during its investigation. Brady won’t take a punishment for admitting to the Wells’ Report findings, however.
Here’s what Schefter said via his Facebook page.
“Tom Brady is open to accepting some form of suspension, but only if it can be for failing to cooperate with the NFL rather than admitting to the Wells’ Report findings, per league sources. The NFL has been adamant that Brady admits to the report’s findings, something he doesn’t seem willing to ever do. With that in mind, settlement discussions have gone “nowhere”, according to sources, and the two sides are back in court today.”
So, what you’re telling me, Schefter, is that this thing should drag on for about another long, painful month? Got it. Both Brady and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell are reportedly not expected to be present at the courtroom proceedings on Wednesday.
