With Comic-Con season ready to explode this summer, a new topically-focused of convention has entered the arena for your consideration. The first ever National Fantasy Football Convention will take place in Las Vegas, and Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo will be there to play, party, and talk all things football. This sounds like a fantastic idea! What could possibly go wrong?
While promoting the event in Irving, Romo pitched the new convention as a place where fantasy football players could meet, greet, and possibly scheme with their potential picks:
“Fans have never been closer to the game, and a lot of my buddies already see themselves as an owner or GM,’’ says Romo in promotion of the event, scheduled for July 10-12 in Las Vegas. “And now fans finally have the chance to interact with all their favorite players and experts.”
In addition to Romo, “the Patriots’ Rob Gronkowski, the Eagles’ DeMarco Murray, the Packers’ Eddie Lacy and Randall Cobb, the Steelers’ Antonio Brown, the Falcons’ Julio Jones and many others” will be in attendance. They’ll all be there for fantasy football (which most of them don’t actually play), and won’t at all be distracted by the pretty lights and oxygen-rich champagne rooms of the Vegas strip.
“Field Level” tickets start at $195, where as “MVP Level” registration currently runs at $745 a pop. These prices will increase after April 15.
