A few weeks ago, Tony X. (a.k.a. @soIoucity) was just a cable guy from St. Louis with a little over a thousand Twitter followers. Then he accidentally discovered hockey while searching for a baseball game, hilariously live-tweeted Game 7 of the Blues-Blackhawks series and immediately became the internet’s newest superstar.
Now with nearly 90,000 followers, Tony X (whose real name is Anthony Holmes) was on-hand for Game 3 of the Blues-Stars series in St. Louis. It was his first ever hockey game in person, and the Blues hooked him up with tickets following his wonderful commentary of the team’s Game 7 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks.
Not only that, they hooked him up with a front-row seat on the glass — a great view to watch the home team throttle Dallas, 6-1.
I really feel like i need a seatbelt on sitting this close. pic.twitter.com/2LrmUmZjbP

NBCSN highlighted Holmes and some of his better tweets on the broadcast, and they also teased a Pierre McGuire interview with him during the game’s second intermission, but it never actually aired for some reason. We can only hope he told Pierre “no more interviews” before giving him a monstrous wedgie and sending him packing.
Y'all really killing this for me. Sorry for being a dick but I'm not doing anymore interviews etc. I just wanna watch the games lol.

In any case, I actually had the chance to do a podcast with Holmes last week after his initial explosion of fame, and you can check out that interview here. He’s sick of the attention, but seems to be a good luck charm for the Blues, so they may want to keep him around for a while.
