THIS is the only way a rec league basketball game should start! #Touchdown (via Mitchell Fairless) https://t.co/8GquSFdIQ8

I don’t know who these people are or their names, where they’re from or how good they are at rec league basketball. These men are American heroes and if you think about modern air travel it’s probably not too late to get them to President Barack Obama’s final State of the Union address.
What’s most impressive about the video isn’t the shot itself—though it is stunning, to be sure. Rather, you have to admire how prepared these guys were in executing the play. They won the tip-off almost like they expected to and immediately had the play ready to go. Look at ’em. They get into position immediately like they’ve done it 1,000 times before. (They probably have, by the way.) One guy “hikes” the basketball to the quarterback—it’s a safe assumption he’s the point guard of the team—who takes a few dribbles before launching the ball from the opponents’ three-point line right into the basket. Meanwhile, his teammates run crisp routes to confuse the defense.
This is some well-executed Spyder 2 Y Banana-type of stuff that would make Jon Gruden want to become a basketball coach. And, if we’re being honest, three points isn’t enough here. These guys deserve a full six points with a free throw (extra point) to make it seven.
