“Bears Suck!!!” yelled a Cowboys fan.
“We may or may not agree with your assessment,” replied two Bears fans. “But it is our contention that it is the Cowboys who also suck.”
That was more or less the conversation that led to two Bears fans in the hospital with stab wounds after an altercation outside of Soldier Field on Thursday night following the Bears-Cowboys game.
The fight started around 10:45 p.m. in the 400 block of West 18th Street when four men shouted at the victims, a 22-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, according to authorities.
According to reports, the men yelled “Bears suck” at the victims and the victims yelled “Cowboys suck” at the men before someone threw beer at the Bears fans.
During the physical altercation, police said someone cut both victims with an unknown object, causing lacerations to both men’s backs.
Both Bears fans were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with what are reported as non-life-threatening injuries.
That’s good about the injuries not being too serious. But still…
If you’re going to get yourself stabbed at a sporting event, at least make it worth your while with something clever or unexpected. Like “Oh yeah? Well Dallas still has one of the highest pollution levels in the country according to EPA estimates!!!”
You have to hit them where it hurts. Yelling “Cowboys suck” is just silly.
Especially when coming from a Bears fan.
