Welcome to the MMArmageddon! Two fights, one night, a million hours of punch men, coming at your face! I’m a little confused by this situation, since the two cards are stretched a little thin, but could have been combined into one very solid set of bouts. Of course, that wouldn’t result in revenue streams from two different locations, which shows how much I know about business.
Anyway, UFC Fight Night 41 is coming live from Berlin, and then later in the evening, The Ultimate Fighter Brasil 3 Finale will be in Sao Paulo. Before you dive into this super-sized live discussion thread, check out the With Leather Staff Predictions for the smartest, snazziest, funniest collection of MMA dick joke makers picking the winners for all 22 fights.
Fight Night 41 prelims will be on Fight Pass, starting at a robust Noon O’clock. I’m really looking forward to Maxi Blanco taking on Andy Ogle in what should be an exciting striking contest, up until Blanco decides to throw a headbutt or something equally mind boggling. Iuri Alcantara versus Vaughan Lee is another prelim fight that looks good to me, but I’m always down for confusing grappling exchanges.
Fight Pass will host the main card at 3:00 PM ET, so don’t touch that internet dial! The main event of Mark Munoz versus Gegard Mousasi should be fun, but the looming specter of Francis Carmont versus Clarence Byron Dollaway is making me want to barf. I advise everyone to use that fight as a bathroom break, because nobody should be forced to look at either of those dudes for a prolonged amount of time.
The Ultimate Fighter Brasil 3 Finale’s prelims begin at 6:30 PM ET on Fight Pass, so hopefully there’s a little bit of time for everyone to restock their fight-watching supplies (Booze, Snax, Cusses). These early prelims feature nobody I’ve ever heard of, but that’s okay, I like meeting new people.
The regular prelims will move to Fox Sports 1 at 8:00 PM ET. There are two interesting looking fights on this stretch of the card, Paulo Thiago going against Gasan Umalatov and Rodrigo Damm taking on Rashid Magomedov. Brazilians versus Dagestanis is becoming a cool MMA feud, so these should be neat fights.
The main card and final bunch of fights for the night stays on Fox Sports 1, and they start at 10:00 PM ET. There are the two TUF Brasil 3 tournament finals fights, featuring three dudes from Team Sonnen because the American Gangster is an excellent coach. The finals also feature With Leather favorite, FACE SHOE. In the main event, Stipe Miocic takes on Fabio Maldonado in what should be a punch-heavy affair.
I think most of the With Leather Combat Sports team will be around to comment about the fights, so join us for an all day affair of PUNCH MENS!
