The march back to the top of the UFC light heavyweight mountain is a tough proposition. Daniel Cormier is the champion, and Jon Jones is back and seemingly more focused than ever. It would take something big to propel Glover Teixeira or Rashad Evans back into contention at UFC on FOX 19, so Glover came through. His violent 1st round knockout of former champ Rashad Evans puts him in the picture, especially after he called out Anthony Johnson.

Main Card

–Glover Teixeira def. Rashad Evans via KO (round 1). You can check out the replay here.

–Rose Namajunas vs. Tecia Torres via unanimous decision in another extremely entertaining fight.

–Khabib Nurmagomedov  def. Darrell Horcher via TKO (round 2). Horcher took this fight on just a few days of notice against arguably the best lightweight in the world, and while he showed plenty of heart, Khabib was far too much for the UFC newcomer.

–Cub Swanson def.Hacran Dias via unanimous decision. This was a solid win, and puts Cub Swanson right back into the thick of things at featherweight, but considering he’s been demolished by everyone in the top 3 (minus McGregor) he may be stuck at gatekeeper status.

As for the rest of the show, the prelims were extremely fun, proving once again that the shows that fly under the radar, such as this one, usually end up full of action.

Prelims
