This past Saturday at UFC on Fox 14, Makwan “Mr. Finland” Amirkhani took on Andy “The Little Axe” Ogle in a preliminary featherweight contest. At the opening bell, Amirkhani rushed at Ogle, hit him with a flying knee and then swarmed Andy with punches until the referee stopped the fight, a mere eight seconds later.
Joe Rogan tried to get on Makwan’s case by saying the stoppage was early, but Amirkhani was having none of it, saying he thought Rogan was drunk during the post fight press conference.
Makwan continued to charm during the conference by deflecting the idea of a rematch with Ogle, asking if he’s supposed to finish the fight quicker than eight seconds the next time.
The charm reaches critical levels when he tells reporters during a media scrum that he’s going to use his Performance of the Night bonus money to buy his mom a really expensive bed.
I’m certainly looking forward to the next time Mr. Finland fights!
