Gokul Venkatachalam and Vanya Shivashankar just walked away as co-winners of the 2015 Scripps National Spelling Bee, but they faced their real challenge on Tuesday night thanks to Jimmy Kimmel. He had the pair on his show for a spelling showdown that featured one very hard to understand twist: Guillermo in bee costume trying to pronounce the words.
The task proved to be fairly impossible for Kimmel, but Gokul and Vanya managed to fare pretty well considering how much the words were being butchered. Cousin Sal moderated the event and the kids got to walk away with another trophy as their parents watched on from the audience.
Too bad co-champions is just fancy talk for “you couldn’t win.”
