All seemed lost for the Vikings. The Saints marched down the field in the final minutes of the fourth quarter to kick a dramatic field goal, leaving less than 30 seconds for the Vikings to do work. It was down to Case Keenum to continue his magical season, and somehow, they pulled it off. A Marcus Williams missed Stefon Diggs on a downfield throw, and Diggs went 61 yards as time expired for the Vikings to get one step closer to a home game in the Super Bowl. Unbelievable.
Watch this again. And again. And again.
61 YARDS 😮
FOR. THE. WIN.

Naturally, fans were losing their minds. There was a 100-year-old lady in the stands (thanks to the Vikings gifting her a ticket) attending her first Vikings playoff game ever, and needless to say, this was one that will go down in history.

For Williams, who missed the relatively wide-open tackle (you can see Diggs was aware that he needed to get out of bounds quickly), this is going to go down in a history in the worst possible way.

Blake Bortles and Case Keenum have defeated Drew Brees and Ben Roethlisberger to head to the AFC and NFC Conference Championships respectively. Now it’s Nick Foles vs. Keenum and the Jaguars’ no.1 defense taking on Tom Brady and the Patriots. My god, this football. Shockingly, this is the first walk-off 4th quarter touchdown in the history of the NFL.
If it seemed unprecedented, it’s because it was: Case Keenum to Stefon Diggs to end game was first ever “walk-off” touchdown in the 4th quarter of a postseason game, per Elias.
