The “Celebrities Read Mean Tweets” segment on Jimmy Kimmel Live is usually funny because the tweets are actually mean and creative. When college programs — or, in this case, personal websites — try to replicate this, the results can be a mixed bag. That’s usually because they can’t show tweets that are, you know, mean and creative. (Except the ESPN College GameDay version with Mississippi State football coach Dan Mullen, who had the best response ever.)
Such is the case with Virginia Tech men’s basketball coach Buzz Williams, who read his own mean tweets on a YouTube video. Among the G-rated insults tossed his way were:
- Being accused of having a fat neck
- Being called a fat Channing Tatum
- Being compared to comedian Frank Caliendo, impersonating Charles Barkley
- Being generally irritating
Good job, everyone. Good effort.
