This past weekend, a plane passenger confused rapper Waka Flocka Flame for being Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman. The video (captured by Waka himself) is short, but undeniably awkward, considering that the passenger seems pretty confident she’s sitting right next to Sherman. Waka doesn’t let the exchange faze him, going along with it as the woman continues to unknowingly embarrass herself.
Granted, this isn’t the first time a case of mistaken identity has occurred between the mainstream rapper and star football player. Back in December 2015, a group of Seattle airport workers stopped the “Hard in Da Paint” artist and asked for a photo, with one of them captioning the picture with “Richard Sherman NFL Seattle Seahawks Cornerback.” Inevitably, the guy ended up editing the caption with Waka Flocka, but by then the damage was already done.
So, moral of the story? Stop confusing Waka Flocka Flame for Richard Sherman, because you’re going to make a fool of yourself, and more importantly, you’re going to make a fool of yourself on the Internet.
