Two people doing a ski backflip doesn’t really move the needle for us — we’ve seen thirty — but two people on one set of skis? We’re back in. All the way back in. Jesper Tjäder, an 18-year old Swedish freeskier with a pretty fun YouTube channel (if you like ski jumping), brought his friend Øystein Bråten to the mountain, but Bråten must have forgotten his blades. Party foul, Bråten!
Tjäder’s nothing if not resourceful, though, so they still gave the flip a shot. Before you criticize the lack of airtime or flashiness in the trick, remember how much weight they’re carrying. I can’t tell how tall either of the ski bros are, but I’d be shocked if their combined weight was less than 275. And have you ever seen a 275-lb man flip? If you have, did it look X Games-worthy? That’s what I thought.
