Wisconsin’s Michael Caputo Tried To Join Alabama’s Huddle After Suffering A Head Injury

This is so hard to watch. Wisconsin star safety Michael Caputo went to tackle Alabama running back Derrick Henry during Saturday night’s showdown at AT&T Stadium. Instead of tackling Henry around the waist, Caputo went low and took him out at the knees. Unfortunately for Caputo, Henry’s knee/thigh hit him at the very top of his head.

Right after, Caputo lined up for the next play. The issue was Caputo didn’t line up at safety, but rather, he stood in Alabama’s backfield and tried to direct things for the Badgers from that position. It was obvious that something was up, and all credit goes to Wisconsin’s coaching staff for immediately getting out there and taking Caputo off of the field.

The 2014 FWAA second-team All-American was removed from the remainder of the game, and the extent of his injury was unknown, as Wisconsin only said that he had a head injury.

It goes without saying, but we all hope that Caputo’s okay and that he’s going to be able to get back onto the field later this year. Wisconsin is currently in a battle with the Crimson Tide on ABC, and Alabama has a 14-7 lead on the Badgers. The game is currently at halftime.
