If you were watching Masterchef on Fox last night without the commercial-skipping capabilities of a DVR, then you know that Andy Samberg’s new show, Brooklyn Nine-Nine starts on Tuesday, September 17th. It was apparently unavoidable, as Fox used ALL of the show’s promo slots on Brooklyn Nine-Nine, airing 9 different teasers. It’s good to see that Mike Schur’s new show is getting a lot of promotion over on Fox; in fact, the 9 promos during last night’s Masterchef probably amount to more promos than NBC gives Parks and Recreation in a month. I do wish Brooklyn Nine-Nine looked better, though. It’s got a great showrunner, and the cast is outstanding. In addition to Samberg, there’s Andre Braugher, Terry Crews, and Chelsea Peretti.
Unfortunately, the show itself looks kind of bland. Then again, it took both The Office and Parks and Recreation six episodes to find their legs. Hopefully, Brooklyn Nine-Nine will find its legs sooner, because there’s a lot of great television this fall, and our DVRs can only hold so much.
Check out the promos. All damn nine of them.
