CNN did a recent report on the giant killer hornets that one spiky-haired Chinese mayor is fighting via midnight flamethrower attacks, and somehow, some way, this screencap happened. Hong Kong is in South America now. Please make a note in your travel guides.
As far as I can tell, there are three possibilities for what happened here, which I will now rank from most to least probable:
- There was a typo or technical glitch in the creation of this graphic.
- At least one person in CNN’s graphics department has no idea where Hong Kong is.
- The people of Hong Kong — either due to fear of these massive hornets or just because they wanted a changed of scenery — uprooted their entire city, floated it halfway around the world, and nuzzled it in next to Rio de Janeiro.
I’m as worried about these hornets as anyone, but I feel like that last one might be a little extreme.
