If I had a time machine, I’d travel to last year and tell everyone that time travel will be all the rage on television in 2016. No one would care, unless it was on Back to the Future Day, but I’ll know I spent my one time machine wish well. Hitler and his micro-penis can assassinate themselves. James Franco voyaged to the 1960s to save JFK; Broad City‘s Ilana Glazer is working on Time Traveling Bong, which is already my favorite show of all-time; and now, Adam Pally, of Happy Endings fame, has signed up for Fox’s Making History, a “time travel comedy pilot” from The Lego Movie‘s Phil Lord and Chris Miller.
The potential series centers on three friends who find a way to travel through time in search of truth, justice, and riches, which complicates their lives in 2016. They visit some of the greatest moments of the past as they try to resolve their personal problems, while history and pop culture comically collide. (Via TVLine)
Pally plays Dan, a “nerdy computer science professor at a small college who is credited with inventing time travel. He methodically uses stolen music, movie lines, and popular culture to great acclaim in the past, where people find him interesting, dashing, and gallant.” What’s more gallant than this?
Making History isn’t expected to interfere with the Happy Endings movie that’s never going to happen.
