Peter Maldonado and his trusty sidekick, Sam Ecklund, are back in the second installment of Netflix’s popular true crime spoof American Vandal, and this time the stakes are higher than ever. We’re talking poop, people — an entire school just helplessly pooping at the whim of a so-called “turd burglar.”
This time, the scene of the crime is set at St. Bernadine, a private Catholic high school. On an otherwise unassuming Monday, on November 6th, a prankster spiked the cafeteria lemonade with a contaminate that caused an outbreak of diarrhea throughout the school. Kids were crapping wherever they could … in corners, against lockers … one girl even slipped and fell in it.
The incident went on to be known as the “the brown out,” and this time Peter and Sam are on the hunt for the culprit. As with last time, the school thinks they have their man — a junior named Kevin McClain, who has since been expelled and awaits trial for the crimes. But did Kevin really do it? That’s what the duo is setting out to learn this time around, but personally my money is on Ming Zhang.
As the saying goes… “Milk, milk, lemonade…around the corner, justice is made.” The second season of the Peabody Award-winning premieres on Netflix in just a few short weeks on September 14.
