I admit, I was surprised when Constantine got canceled and wasn’t picked up elsewhere. It was a good show with a passionate fanbase, and networks have been learning that you don’t discard those so easily these days. But it appears that plans are in the works to have John Constantine meet some of the tights-and-masks set.
Arrow‘s executive producer Wendy Mericle noted in an interview with IGN that they are, in fact, working on bringing Constantine onto the show. And it won’t be some rando in a trench coat, either:
Yeah, we really want to do it. It’s something we’ve been talking to DC about and it’s just a question of some political things, but also the actor’s schedule. We’re trying to work it out, but we don’t know 100 percent if it’s going to happen. But we’re really optimistic and we would love to have him.
It helps that Stephen Amell is a fan of the show, or even just so nice of a guy that he’s willing to help out by volunteering a guest shot on Constantine. And, realistically, it will probably work out; DC’s ever-expanding TV empire always needs more shows. Just don’t tell Constantine that the Arrowcave is non-smoking.
