Bill Hader Is Creating And Starring In An HBO Comedy About A Hitman

Proving that good things do occasionally happen to good people, certified good person Bill Hader will create and play the lead role in Barry. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the HBO comedy will star Hader as an “ex-Marine who works as a low-rent hitman in the Midwest.” I’m already in. He eventually moves to Los Angeles to kill a target, but “ends up finding an accepting community in a group of eager hopefuls within the L.A. theater scene.”

Happens.

Everything’s coming up Hader, who’s also directing Barry. He partially voiced BB-8 in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, starred in one of last year’s biggest PG- (Inside Out) and R-rated movies (Trainwreck), his Documentary Now! series with Fred Armisen was a critical smash, and now this. By this time next year, don’t be surprised if he’s cured the common cold, reunited Hüsker Dü, and resurrected “What Up with That.” Until proven otherwise, I’ll believe Hader can do anything, including making a non-puppet version of this.
