Bob Saget, who played loveable dad, Danny Tanner, on Full House has weighed in on the controversy surrounding his former mentor, Bill Cosby. During an interview with HuffPost Live, a fan asked Saget about Cosby’s place in comedy history following the events of the rape scandal he’s currently embroiled in. Saget did not hold back much in his response:
“I think any human being that does things that are despicable to other human beings will be slightly tarnished by history…
“I think the answer is obvious, that the man has been tarnished. And it’s just sad for all of the people involved.”
Despite the sensitivity of the nature of the crime that Cosby is accused of, it didn’t deter Saget from making a joke about the ordeal. Responding to the woman asking the question, Saget said, “It’s an area I don’t usually delve into, but you’re a very brave woman. And I brought a briefcase of pills to give to you.”
This isn’t the first time that Saget has mentioned the disgraced TV dad. In an interview with Philadelphia radio station WMMR, Saget referenced Cosby by saying, “People that are your heroes are sometimes incredibly disappointing by turning out to be douchey people.”
Currently, over 50 women have come out to accuse Cosby of sexual abuse over the course of decades, but maintains his innocence in lieu of the allegations.
