CBS announced today that it’s developing a series called Brain Dead. The show, from Good Wife creators Robert and Michelle King, will be a political satire about alien zombie, uh, things, taking over Washington by eating the brains of numerous Congressman. The series will als-…

“CONGRESSMEN HAVE BRAINS?”

Dammit, Uncle Larry. I’m trying to write a blog post.

“BUT HOW WILL ANYONE TELL THE DIFFERENCE?”

Mom! Uncle Larry’s doing it again!

Ugh, fine. You’re no fun

Thank you. Here the fuller description of the program, from Vulture:

Brain Dead will follow a young female congressional staffer working her first D.C. job. In addition to realizing what we all already know — that the government is pretty much broken — she’ll stumble upon the cause of the dysfunction: “Alien spawn have come to earth and eaten the brains of a growing number of Congressmen and Hill staffers,”

Even more delightfully, the creators described the show as “The Strain crossed with The West Wing,” which might be my favorite “Show crossed with other show” description of all-time, mostly because now I’m picturing Allison Janney unhinging her entire jaw to reveal 10-15 rows of razor sharp teeth that she uses to bite off Bradley Whitford’s torso in a brief fit of rage.

Brain Dead will premiere in the summer of 2016.
