I believe I just proved my point from last night. The Tonight Show is a series of contests between Jimmy Fallon and his celebrity guests. And if it works, I can’t really blame them for doing it over and over again.
We love contests and competition as a society, it’s in our nature. This is what has helped the listicle become a popular choice for articles all across the Internet. Ranking things that shouldn’t be ranked and pitting things in battles of opinion.
Fallon is merely the Roman leader giving the people what they want. Silly games and contests between celebrities we love and idolize. Or maybe it’s just for silly entertainment value, I dunno. I’m off my meds.
