Brace yourselves. There’s a new show coming to television that will be so charismatic, so full of adorable banter and glances, and packed with talented dancers going head-to-head in competition, that you probably won’t be able to watch it for more than a few minutes at at time for fear of being blown away by the amazing. According to Variety, Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan Tatum have signed on for a six-part dance competition series on NBC. The dancing and acting couple, who of course first met on the set of Step Up a decade ago, are producing the show via their respective production companies and will participate in a variety of ways.
While no concrete details are yet available for what the series will consist as far as the competitive component itself, Jenna will serve as a judge and a mentor while Channing will appear in a different but unspecified capacity. With any luck that unspecified capacity will be as a guest dancer and choreography with a minimum episode threshold of how many times he has to show up shirtless or dressed like Beyonce. A shame the show will be on NBC rather than cable or fans could have hoped for that thong from Magic Mike XXL. Whatever the show’s format turns out to be, the couple that dances together and judges contestants together stays together. Or something like that.
