Katee Sackhoff Is The Creator, Writer, And Star Of New Dystopian Sci-Fi Series ‘Rain’

It’s been fun watching Katee Sackhoff and her jeans saunter around Wyoming solving crimes in Longmire, but it’s about time Starbuck returned to her sci-fi roots. Uh, her non-Power Ranger roots.

Well, it turns out she’s doing just that, in a new self-created sci-fi series entitled Rain. The series takes place in the future as Earth deals with the long-term effects of climate change, pollution and genetic manipulation of nature. This is all seen through the eyes of a (I’m guessing) no-nonsense soldier played by Sackhoff. Here’s what producer Tom Rowe had to say about the show…

“With Rain, Katee has created a future world and a story that are compelling as both a sweeping vision and a very personal exploration of a civilization in harrowing decline by its own hand. She has written a great story and we are excited to be working with her.”

Rain doesn’t yet have a home. If I had to guess, I’d say it might end up on Netflix along with new episodes of Longmire. Sackhoff and binge-watching go together well, if you catch my drift.
