Mike From ‘Breaking Bad’ Will Act All Endearingly Grumpy On ‘Parks And Recreation’

Perhaps inspired by Parks + Meth, and feeling left out after Gus Fring’s appearance on Community and Walter White’s upcoming stint as Ron on 30 Rock, Parks and Recreation creator Michael Schur assured fans everywhere that on some still-undetermined day in 2012, we won’t have to not think about Breaking Bad.

In an episode of the fifth season of Parks and Rec, Jonathan Banks from Breaking Bad will play the father of Adam Scott’s character, Ben Wyatt.

“We were working the character description of Ben’s dad,” explains Parks co-creator Mike Schur, “and I said aloud, ‘He should act like Mike Ehrmentraut. So somebody said, ‘Well, why can’t we just get Jonathan Banks?'” (Via Hitfix)

WWJBD. Despite being best known as a “cleaner” of bodies and lover of kicking his granddaughter’s butt in Hungry Hungry Hippos, Banks has an impressive comedy career; he’s appeared in 48 Hrs., Beverly Hills Cop, Airplane!, Gremlins, and other funny, non-Gremlin films alike. He was also in this HILARIOUS mensutration video. So this will be a piece of cake for him; he can just sit back, relax, and down his Traut Drank that he loves so very much. (That’s beer and Ensure, for the uninformed.) The Parks and Rec writers will be the ones challenged. Can they go an entire episode without referencing keys and shutting the f*ck up? I hope not.
