2015 was a big year for TV. We saw some great shows end, but many more return and we also had a ton of new shows to get excited about, like Mr. Robot. But what new series do we have to look forward to in 2016? Many more, as it turns out. If you don’t already have a full plate of returning shows, here are some of the most-anticipated TV premieres this year.
We’ve got revivals of classic shows with X-Files and Fuller House. The bar is set pretty high of course, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be able to recapture the magic of the originals. Another sort-of-stab at the story of Frankenstein comes to life in the Fox show Second Chance. Rashida Jones comes back to the small screen with Angie Tribeca, a comedic spin on the police procedural. For those thinking it’ll just be another Brooklyn Nine-Nine, the TBS series is supposed to be in the same vein as Naked Gun and will have Bill Murray flirting with Jones, so it’s worth a chance. 11.22.63, Stephen King’s book about preventing the JFK assassination will be getting an adaptation on Hulu, which is set to premiere in February.
The one premiere sadly missing from the list is Twin Peaks. We still have to wait until 2017 for that one, but that should be enough time for Lynch and the Bookhouse Boys to get things right.
